A science fiction short narrative about technology addiction, set in the future. The main character, Jon Beck, becomes addicted to The Orb: an entertainment device that allows the user to experience intense physical sensation in a virtual world. Jon is forced to acknowledge what he has lost due to his addiction when his orb becomes nonfunctional. The story is told through a series of flashbacks and depicts Jon's inner struggle with the Orb. The target audience is people who enjoy sci-fi and entertainment technology.
