Rhythm 'n' Blue Ash: Cincinnati Klezmer Project (Part 2)
Date Created:
Subject:Music
In the early 18th century, Klezmer musicians traveled from shtetl to shtetl; since then, the style has evolved into a sophisticated musical tradition that is highly emotional and exuberant. The Cincinnati Klezmer Project, formed in 1993, has performed at hundreds of festivals, concerts, and other venues all over the world, including with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and brings all manner of Klezmer music to the stage: dance tunes, love songs, drinking songs, and wedding processionals. Klezmer music, nearly dead a generation ago, is currently undergoing an international renaissance, and is widely acclaimed and celebrated by Jewish and non-Jewish music-lovers alike.
