The UC Blue Ash College Entrepreneur Speaker Series features successful entrepreneurs from the region. In this installment Kent Lutz, Assistant Professor of Business & Economics at UCBA, interviews Craig Kurz, owner and board member of HoneyBaked Ham. Kurz shares stories about his grandfather’s invention: a meat slicer which nobody wanted to buy, but was eventually used to create the famous spiral-sliced ham that helped launch the business in 1957. He also provides insight to the business model that turned this small family business into an iconic brand with more than 460 locations across the U.S. and now Japan. HoneyBaked Ham has built a reputation for high quality with products that are associated with nearly every holiday we celebrate. Questions are also taken from the audience.
